Revisiting Tulsa

Steve I don't know if you read this, but you should check this post out. This is the hidden history of Tulsa that shouldn't be that hidden. In a time where a great number of us are focused on terrorism (rightly so), we should revisit our own terrorist history. Thanks to Barr, whom I met on Flickr. I'm hoping I can shift my research agenda to deal with comparative issues soon enough to travel the world before the oil goes....

Perhaps the greatest racial abomination in our history. A disgusting and ugly day for our nation. As a history teacher, my studies of this topic literally took my breath away. Is the fact that it has not been widely reported a greater tragedy? It is utterly ridiculous that this story isn't highlighted in EVERY U.S. History textbook. This event should be talked about just as much as Birmingham, Selma, Watts, Newark and Detroit.

p.s. I really enjoy the site.
