The Sinclair Broadcasting Group has recently decided to air a 42 minute long critique of Senator Kerry's service record. In response to questions about the propiety of such a move Michael Powell, (son of Colin Powell and Chairman of the FCC) had this to say:
"As a broadcaster, Sinclair does have a duty to the public interest," FCC Chairman Michael K. Powell told The Washington Post by e-mail. "We will, as always, review any complaints we receive that properly fall in our jurisdiction."
Hm. Don't forget though, it was Clinton who appointed Mike Powell to the FCC in the first place (although Bush did make him the chair). And nobody has stopped a network from broadcasting F/911, yet.
Posted by: Yonemoto at October 20, 2004 05:07 AMYou make my point exactly. I have come to the conclusion that both (Perhaps I should say all that exist as we know them today) parties suck!
It was also mr. clinton who gave us this disasterous welfar reform package, which has, in part, done nothing to enhance the economic wherewithal or prospects of some Blacks. Especially during the recent downturn at the beginning of bush II's administration and as recent data from the Robert Suro has pointed out.

Using M. Powell's logic or rationale for airing the Anti-Kerry piece, then it would be in the "public's interest" to aire Micheal Moore's propaganda piece 9/11!
Personally, I can't' stand anyofthem!!!!!!!!
Le/ri/de/repub/ind/etc:they're all, subtlely, or not, white supremacist or or promote and / or sustain policies that enables the these folks anyway! Then again, at this point in history, one could make the argument, strongly, that the alternatives are just as stupid or dangerous. Just check out the geo-political map whether you look in this country, on the 'continent' or wherever, there are some rather STUPID AND DANGEROUS fools out there with nothing viable or culturally sustaining to offer. So we have to , to date stick with the 'devils' we know. Warts and all. Hmmm?
