I came across Timothy Tyson's newest. Tyson's first bookRadio Free Dixie was a revised version of his dissertation, and was written about Robert Williams, literally an American hero. I'd heard about Tyson when he was working on the diss....and I wondered what exactly caused Tyson (a white historian) to tackle Williams' life. I know now.
